Good news and bad news...

Hello all!

Chapter 10 is up. Yay! That is the good news. The bad news is that I am catching up to myself. I cannot post two chapters a week anymore without letting things slip. I only have three more chapters to go and I have to make sure I'm wrapping everything up tightly. I technically have finished, but am going back and adding, editing, and filling out everything. I have a little more research to do as well to make sure I get some details right.

All that to say that I will not publish Chapter 11 until next Sunday. I will miss all of you, and plan to keep you with me for another 3 weeks. :0)

Enjoy this chapter...

  1. Gee, how long until Elizabeth figures out she has become competent, an elegant female? And will she finally read the letter in chapter 11?

  2. Oh! You can't leave it THERE and make me wait a whole week, you just can't!

On another note, I'm not sure when women began receiving knighthoods, and I'm having a hard time finding it on a cursory search.

If it wasn't until after Regency times, then Lizzy assuming she would be called "Sir Elizabeth" is correct. If granting knighthoods to women was already established, however, she would probably know that females who are knighted are known as "Dame" rather than "Sir." I did see a reference to Queen Mary being knighted, so I think it might be safer to use "Dame."

Now, excuse me, I think I'm going to go cry MYSELF to sleep...

  3. Crystal,
Lizzy knows that she would not be a "Sir" anything--it was all a joke in her head. No crying ladies. All will be well soon enough. :0)

  4. Oh, you are a cruel creature. I certainly hope Jane can talk some sense into Lizzy. Needless to say, I will be waiting very impatiently for Chapter 11. Suddenly, a week seems like a very long time.

  7. I'm making myself write today. Took the last few days off. Even went to a matinee yesterday to see a romcom (When in Rome--just OK, but I did laugh.) Now, I'm back in the saddle... yee hah!
